I had an infected molar extracted. I was pretty stressed out prior to the procedure but Dr Smith and the staff were very calming and empathetic. The entire extraction process took about 45 minutes. My stress didn't go away entirely but it was bearable. I highly recommend Dr Smith, staff and Blue Lake Oral Surgery.

The receptionist was very welcoming, and all assistants of Dr. Smith were attentive and making sure I was comfortable. Dr. Smith shared information in terms that were understandable. I went here yesterday and was denied a prescription for antibiotics. As soon as they realized my insurance doesn't cover the extraction. I was rushed out. I asked about antibiotics and was told "It's been infected for awhile" it just needs to come out. I've had several extractions and they all prescribed antibiotics prior to extraction. My next appointment they could only tell me it would be in July. So they expect me to live in pain with an infection for weeks until I can get an extraction. This is what's wrong with America. These companies only care about profit.

I had a tooth extracted from this office a few months ago and it was an easy and (almost) pleasant experience. I found the doctor and the office to be competent and caring. I recently accompanied a friend to a different place to have several tooth extracted and the negative experience we had made me realize how good I had it at Blue Lake oral surgery. At Blue Lake, I was given the prescriptions a week in advance so that I could be prepared for recovery. I was instructed to take anti-nausea medication an hour before the surgery. After the surgery, the office called twice to check on me. It seems very simple, but my experience at the other place was drastically different. At the other place, the doctor would not call in the prescriptions until after the surgery and I was expected to pick up the prescriptions on the way home from surgery, which is quite ridiculous to expect this of someone after they have been under anesthesia and are not supposed to drive or be left alone. When I asked the front desk (twice) what we were supposed to do I was met with complete silence because they could have cared less. She vomited shortly after surgery, something that could have been avoided if she had the anti-nausea medication before the surgery. Have you ever vomited when you have a mouth full of blood and gauze and can barely stand up? Because my friend did, and it was completely preventable except that the office she went to could have cared less about the patient experience. They sent us home with a vomit bag because they knew what would happen but they couldn't care enough to prevent it in the first place. Long story short....Blue lake is a good place that cares about their patients.

Dr. Smith is highly caring and professional. The atmosphere of her office is calming and clean. The support team for my procedure was intuitive and efficient. Getting oral surgery can be a challenging process, but Dr. Smith has everything handled: there is a pamphlet about aftercare and a cozy blanket which keeps you comfortable. I enjoyed that blanket the best!
